Bud Gowan Clothes Limited is a London based company for the past 55 years. We have a formal wear division which has formal wear for rental and sales, a career apparel division which specializes in men's and women's tailored uniforms, school uniforms and a fine quality retail men's clothing service.

We believe that our success has been based on providing excellent quality and service at fair, competitive prices.

Bud Gowan has been recognized as Retailer of the Year in 1991, as People's Choice for formal wear in 1993 and most recently nominated for the "Outstanding Business Achievement" Award by London's Chamber of Commerce. In 1998, we were awarded the Premier's award by Fanshawe College for business excellence and community involvement. In 2004, we were honored by being voted one of the top 5 Formal Wear Rental Companies in North America, in the category of customer service, by the International Formalwear Association (IFA).

Bud Gowan has been the initiator of a SafeGrad Celebration Program in Ontario. The Addiction Research Foundation of Canada recognized our contribution to this in December 1998. We are delighted to assist a number of communities to consider this worthwhile program in conjunction with Health Units and Ontario Drug Awareness Partnership.

History

Bud Gowan Clothes began in 1953 and quickly earned a reputation as one of Canada's leading retailers for fine men's clothing. The formal wear division began in 1978. It moved the head office to downtown London on 184 York St. in 1981 and quickly grew. The uniform division, Bud Gowan Career Apparel was begun in 1988 to service a growing market for corporate and business professionals. It was a natural extension of our expertise handling large groups in the rental industry. In 1993, we began to return to our roots and started selling high quality men's clothing by appointment only to service the many requests we had had from our client base.

In 2007, Bud Gowan Clothes moved down the street to 551 York St. to better serve their customers. This new location offers free onsite parking for our customers. In addition, we have expanded our fine quality retail men's wear store, no longer requiring an appointment. The new location offers enhanced quality with new production equipment and logistics as well as offers our customers a Dry Cleaning and Alterations service that is convenient.

Service

Our highly trained sales staff is equipped to provide measuring onsite for your business. Their expertise in fitting a variety of garments ensures that you will get the look that you are seeking. In our production facilities, we have skilled seamstresses and tailors to quickly produce a custom tailored garment. As well, we have industrial presses to complete the quality finish that you would expect from a quality garment. Our training in the rental industry allows us to develop quick, efficient systems for managing uniform inventories.

We have serviced many High School bands, orchestras and musical groups for the past 15 years. We provide uniforms for a growing number of corporate clients, businesses, educational institutions, golf courses, and private schools.
